There seems to be a common question I get asked a lot, in a lot of different ways, but it pretty much comes down to:
“HOW CAN I ATTRACT BETTER QUALITY CLIENTS IN MY BUSINESS?”
Now the answer to this generally comes down to your branding and marketing and whether or not you actually know what type of clients you really want in your business in the first place.
If you are attracting a lot of clients you don’t want, it means the message and image your business is putting out into the world is attracting the wrong people.
(And if you don’t know what type of clients you want in your business, you’re not going to be able to attract them).
Most people don’t stop to think twice about this.
They’re so desperate to keep trying to get new clients in the door that they think they will be restricting themselves if they stop taking on the clients they don’t actually want.
Did you know that 80% of your revenue comes from just 20% of your customers?
Most business owners especially when they’re starting out, make the common mistake of trying to please everybody, of trying to talk to everybody, of offering ‘the best quality service at the best price.’
Which literally makes you sound the same as every other business in the world.
Seriously, think about how many times you have seen “Best Service & Best Price” in advertisements and websites.
It’s everywhere. Be unique.
When you know the exact kind of clients you want in your business, you can design your branding and marketing around strategically attracting the exact type of customers that you want.
When you know why they come to you and why they like you, you can use this information in your marketing so that when new prospects find you online they will be able to relate to you straight away.
So what I’d like to do today is give you 3 things you can do this week to get you a little bit clearer on how you can start attracting the type of clients you want into your business.

Decide on the type of clients you WANT in your business.
To do this I suggest visualising a few of your best clients now.
The ones that have been coming to you from the start.
The ones who recommend you to everyone they meet.
The ones who will never go anywhere else.
The ones who follow all your advice and instructions and do everything right.
These are the clients you want to focus on every time you do anything in your business.
Now, write down at least 3 names, and a little bit about each one of them. Can you see anything that these people have in common just from doing this simple exercise?
Contact these customers this week and offer them something special.
It could be just a nice thank you message.
It could be a gift, discount or voucher.
Tell them how much you appreciate having them as your client, and ask if they wouldn’t mind filling in a short survey or answering a few questions via email to get to know them better, to find out what they specifically like about you & your biz.
The more you know about them, the more you can strategically attract more clients just like them.
Ask them things like:
• Why do you choose to use / visit / do business with our business rather than our competition?
• What was it that attracted you to us and what keeps you coming back?
• What is your favourite thing about our business?
• How does our business make you feel?
• What were you looking for and why – when you first discovered us?
Document the answers safely inside your business systems or a customer research google drive file so you can access them whenever you like.
Be genuine. Be thoughtful. Be real.
Now that you have a pretty good idea of what it is about your business that these amazing clients love, and why they are coming to you, you can promote these things on your website, your marketing material, and target these type of clients specifically using Facebook Marketing with a strategically created boosted post or ad.
To really attract the type of clients you really want, you need to get inside their head, and this is a fantastic and authentic way to learn how to do that.
You also might want to re-word your website and emails as if you are talking just to these clients, this really does make a big big difference.
