Excuses (and overcoming them)…

I’ve heard (and made) a lot of excuses in my life, and they come in many shapes and forms, including back-up reasoning that “it’s not an excuse, it’s a reason” bla bla bla – yeah, it’s a reason you’re not doing the things you say you want in your life, that’s what it is…

Sometimes we make excuses on auto-pilot, we don’t even realise that we’re making them.

And sometimes, when we say we want something, but then weeks, months or years go by and we still don’t have those things because of all the excuses we keep making about why we don’t or cant have the things we want, we really should stop and ask ourselves if we really truly want that thing.

I believe that if you really truly want something in life, that absolutely nothing will stop you from getting it, but if we don’t want it bad enough and if we are happy to settle for less, than there is just no chance in ever reaching the goal we think we want to achieve.

Are you making any of these excuses and justifying them to yourself by telling yourself they are true?

I’m just waiting for …………….. before I ………………..
When ……………….. happens then I can ………………….
After I have ……………… then I will …………………….
I just don’t feel like ………………. today
People will think ……………….. if I ……………………
I will …………………. tomorrow / next week / next month / next year
I can’t ……………….. because of ……………………

Ok, you get the point, hopefully.

The truth is, there is a way around ALL OF THESE THINGS.
And if you want what you say you want bad enough, you will find or MAKE that way.
If you’re happy waiting, and keeping yourself small, or holding yourself back, that’s fine too, but just own it.
